Carnage at Wellington

The events that unfolded today at Wellington was nothing short of *carnage* from the two Indian left hand openers. When the chase began by India, most of the ICT fans would have had ghosts of previous tours to New Zealand where the batters have struggled in swinging conditions. When the 15 year old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi cleared his front foot to tonk Jacob Duffy for a boundary the fans would have realized the chase is on.

It has been a welcome relief to see the Indian team giving an extended run to all the T20 players and not chopping and changing the team every day. The level of confidence it gives to the players knowing that their position in the team is safe is a safety net which allows players like Abhishek and Vaibhav to go express themselves and not worry if they are going to be dropped for the next game.

The team still has certain gaps where the players are still looking clueless. The Indian team would be looking to fill these gaps before their T20 World Cup title defense in 2028 in Australia and New Zealand.

Ps: As a Indian fan, can we request ICC to keep all of the India's 2028 world cup games in New Zealand
